Security Manager

The Security Manager provides specialist operational leadership for the Trust’s security function, ensuring safe, secure environments for patients, staff, and visitors. The postholder supports delivery of the Trust’s Security Strategy, oversees day-to-day security operations, leads incident response, and ensures compliance with NHS Protect, CQC, and Health & Safety legislation. The role leads on security risk assessments, CCTV and access control oversight, violence reduction initiatives, contractor management, and staff training. The postholder works closely with clinical, operational, and Estates teams to promote a positive safety culture across all Trust premises.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day security operations across Trust sites.
• Conduct security risk assessments and support delivery of the Trust’s Security Strategy.
• Oversee CCTV, access control, and alarm systems, ensuring compliance with data protection and codes of practice.
• Lead incident response for violence, theft, missing persons, and unauthorized access.
• Coordinate security patrols, contractor performance, and site inspections.
• Support investigations, evidence gathering, and liaison with police and external partners.
• Deliver conflict resolution, violence reduction, and security awareness training.
• Maintain accurate security documentation including incident reports, risk assessments, training records, CCTV audit logs, and access permissions.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and briefing papers for committees and inspections.
• Contribute to development of security policies, procedures, and Trust-wide initiatives.
