Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services for an experienced and customer-focused Security Officer to join our established security team at Port Solent.
This is a varied and people-focused role in a vibrant outdoor shopping and leisure destination, where delivering a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience for visitors is a priority.
As a Security Officer, you will work as part of a dedicated site team on a permanent 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, averaging 42 hours per week. The role involves working a mixture of day, mid, and night shifts, providing a visible security presence across the site and ensuring the safety and security of visitors, tenants, staff, and property.
You will be responsible for conducting regular patrols, monitoring site activity, responding to incidents, and providing excellent customer service to members of the public. You will act as an ambassador for both Anchor Group Services and Port Solent, creating a welcoming environment while maintaining the highest standards of security and professionalism.
The successful candidate must hold both valid SIA and CCTV licences, as the role includes operating on-site CCTV systems.
Shift Blocks
- Day Shifts: 06:00 to 18:00
- Mid Shifts:
- Tuesday to Thursday: 12:30 to 00:30
- Friday and Saturday: 15:30 to 03:30
- Sunday: 14:30 to 02:30
- Monday: 13:30 to 01:30
- Night Shifts: 18:00 to 06:00

Duties Include
- Protecting the client's property, people, and assets in accordance with Assignment Instructions and site-specific procedures.
- Providing a warm, welcoming, and professional presence for all visitors, tenants, and staff.
- Acting as the first point of contact for customers and visitors, offering guidance, information, and assistance.
- Conducting regular foot patrols throughout the site to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Monitoring CCTV systems in accordance with site procedures and data protection requirements.
- Supporting a safe and welcoming environment through high-visibility patrols and proactive engagement.
- Responding promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns.
- Liaising professionally with site management, tenants, emergency services, and members of the public.
- Reporting irregularities and addressing issues in line with site policies and procedures.
- Completing accurate reports, including incidents, observations, and daily activity logs.
- Maintaining compliance with legal requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
- Contributing positively to the team and maintaining professional conduct at all times.
Requirements
- Full 5-year employment checkable history – ESSENTIAL
- Valid frontline SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence – ESSENTIAL
- Valid CCTV Licence – ESSENTIAL
- Ability to reliably commute to Port Solent, PO6 4TP.
- Previous security experience within a customer-facing environment preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills and confidence when dealing with conflict.
- Flexible and reliable approach to shift work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Smart appearance and professional manner.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- High level of enthusiasm and commitment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
