Job Title: Security Officer

Reporting to: Security Manager & Supervisor

Hours of Work: 4 on 4 off roster pattern, 12-hour shifts covering days, nights, and weekends. Avg 42hrs per week.

Shift pattern: 2 days 2 nights 4 off (07:00 – 19:00)

OBJECTIVE

To work as a member of the security team for the protection of persons and property and thereby the provision of a safe and secure environment. Working within this high-profile environment your primary role is to ensure the security of people, premises, and property, protecting the reputation of the client/tenants throughout.

  • The maintenance of good order in all UniTrust sites including protection against violent acts, abuse and accident.
  • The protection of a client’s property against loss, theft, damage (including fire and water) and waste.
  • The protection of private property belonging to the client, their staff and visitors against loss, theft and damage.
  • Prevent offences against the law of the land, UniTrust disciplinary codes and policies and ensure all are brought to the attention of the management.
  • Use X-Ray machines to carry out airport type of security searches, at any of the three entrances.
  • Ensure basic fire precautions are in place and means of escape are clear.
  • Maintain vigilance on the public within sight of all areas for damage, theft etc. and deal effectively with offenders.
  • Internal and external patrolling.
  • Monitoring and responding to CCTV and intruder alarms.
  • Liaising with the client’s staff for out of hours service calls.
  • General security duties as required.
