Purpose of the Role
To assist with the security and safety of visitors and tenant staff on the site and to assist with all emergency situations when they occur. This includes providing a visible security presence, handling enquiries and customer concerns, monitoring CCTV (by suitably trained and licensed staff) supporting the tenants, individual stores and preventing ASB/Shop Theft, identifying offenders and disrupting any criminal activities.
Key Responsibilities
- To work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment.
- To undertake regular Site Patrols and CCTV monitoring of the site.
- To carry out duties in accordance with Assignment Instructions issued by the Security Area Manager.
- To comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy for the site.
- To ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the site are complied with at all times.
- Ensure that all incidents are recorded in the DoB and escalated to site management where appropriate.
- Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully, to requirements for contractor management and site H&S in line with the company policy and site procedures.
- Ensure that the site is a safe and pleasant environment for the public.
- To assist with enquiries from the public if so required.
- To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.

In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA DS Licence and a Public Space Surveillance Licence.(CCTV)
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Experience in the provision of Security Services and CCTV Monitoring in a busy environment visited by members of the public.

- Ability to demonstrate good levels of customer service at all times.
- Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
- Honest and reliable work ethic.
- Willingness to partake in on-site training for emergency procedures.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills of both written and verbal English.
- Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work patterns and work weekends/night shifts on a roster pattern.
- Willingness to undertake additional training and career development.
- Smartly presented.
- Accurate record keeping with excellent observation skills and attention to detail.

Desirable
- Ability to use full range of Microsoft applications inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of H&S legislation.
Working Hours
- 9 hour shifts - Average 40 hours per week over a six week roster pattern with a mixture of Day and Night Shifts (Currently zero hours, under review for fixed hours permanent contract)
Salary
- £13.65ph
