Role Description

The Security Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Belfast. The Security Officer is responsible for monitoring premises, controlling access, conducting regular security patrols, and responding to alarms or incidents in a calm and professional manner. Daily tasks include:

The role also involves ensuring that security procedures are followed, reporting safety hazards, and supporting the protection of company assets and client property. The Security Officer is expected to maintain a high level of visibility, uphold company standards, and provide a safe and secure environment at all times.

Qualifications

  • Strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and ability to remain alert over extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills, including clear report writing and professional interaction with clients, colleagues, and the public.
  • Experience with security systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring, or willingness to learn these technologies.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, adhere to safety and security protocols, and respond appropriately to incidents.
  • Good physical fitness and capacity to perform regular patrols, stand for extended periods, and manage emergency situations when needed.
  • Previous experience in a security or protective services role is an asset, but candidates with transferable skills are welcome.
  • Relevant security certification or license (where legally required) and eligibility to work on-site in Belfast.
  • Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and professional conduct in all aspects of work.
