Frimley Park Hospital, part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking professional, motivated and customer-focused Security Officers to join our dedicated team.
As a Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff and contractors. No two days are the same. From responding to incidents and supporting vulnerable individuals, to protecting hospital assets and working alongside clinical teams, you will be at the heart of keeping our hospital running safely and effectively.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced healthcare environment where your professionalism, judgement and commitment to public service will have a direct impact on the wellbeing of others. You will join a supportive team, receive ongoing training and development, and become an ambassador for both the Security Department and the wider Trust.

Main duties of the job
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Creating a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff and contractors by protecting people, property and assets across the hospital site.
- Making critical decisions in dynamic situations, carrying out risk assessments and using sound judgement to resolve incidents, support colleagues and maintain safety.
- Providing a visible security presence through proactive patrols of the hospital and surrounding grounds, including monitoring car parks and responding promptly to security incidents.
- Operating security technology, including CCTV and access control systems, to help prevent, detect and investigate incidents while ensuring compliance with Trust policies and GDPR requirements.
- Communicating professionally and compassionately with patients, visitors, staff, emergency services and external agencies, using de-escalation and conflict resolution skills where required.
- Producing accurate incident reports and statements, both electronically and in writing, ensuring clear documentation and effective information sharing.
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting clinical and non-clinical colleagues to maintain a safe, welcoming and secure healthcare environment.
- Living the Trust's values by delivering outstanding customer service, demonstrating professionalism, respect and compassion in every interaction.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level 3 or above.
- Conflict resolution training.
- Restraint and breakaway training.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to solve problems and make key decisions under pressure.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in a customer care profession.
- Previous experience in a security profession.
- Previous security related experience.
- Report writing experience.
- Worked in an NHS hospital
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Be able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to de-escalate aggression and violent situations.
- Must be able to cope under pressure and in a conflict situation.
- Be able to work using own initiative.
- Use of CCTV.
- Good IT Skills.
- Be able to follow precisely and accurately verbal and written instructions.
