Location: Capitol Shopping Centre, Queen Street, Cardiff, CF10 2HQ

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour

Hours: From 42 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days, including weekends and bank holidays as required.

The Site Operates 24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a Week. Successful Candidates Must Be Flexible To Work a Combination Of The Following Shifts

  • 07:00 - 14:00 (7 hours)
  • 07:00 - 19:00 (12 hours)
  • 14:00 - 21:00 (7 hours)
  • 19:00 - 07:00 (12 hours)

About the Role

Kingdom Services Group is looking for a professional and customer-focused Security Officer to join the team at Capitol Shopping Centre, Cardiff. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers, tenants, staff, and visitors.

This role involves a mixture of duties, including patrolling the shopping centre, monitoring CCTV systems within the Control Room, responding to incidents, and providing a visible security presence throughout the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal and external patrols of the shopping centre.
  • Monitor CCTV systems and respond appropriately to incidents.
  • Ensure the safety and security of customers, tenants, staff, and visitors.
  • Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify and report security, health and safety, and maintenance concerns.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assistance when required.
  • Respond professionally to incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
  • Follow all Company Assignment Instructions, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential).
  • CCTV Licence required, or willingness to obtain a CCTV Licence before the end of the 90-day probation period.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Knowledge of incident reporting procedures.
  • Ability to write clear and accurate patrol and incident reports.
  • Professional, confident, and approachable at all times.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
