Role Description
This full-time Security Officer role is based on-site in the Somerset region and supports the safety and security of customers, colleagues, and facilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Monitoring premises
- Conducting regular patrols

- Responding to security incidents or alarms in line with company procedures

The Security Officer will:
- Complete accurate incident and shift reports
- Liaise with clients and emergency services when required
- Help enforce site rules and regulations
The role also involves using security systems such as CCTV, radios, and access control equipment, while maintaining a visible, professional presence that supports customer service and the wider facilities management team.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in security, facilities, or safety-related roles, with knowledge of site patrols, access control, and incident response.
- Ability to operate security technologies (e.g., CCTV, alarm systems, access control, radios) and follow established security protocols.
- Strong observational, situational awareness, and problem-solving skills to identify risks and take appropriate action.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and emergency services in a calm, professional manner.
- Capacity to produce clear written reports, maintain accurate records, and follow documented procedures and policies.
- Reliability and integrity, with the ability to work shifts, stand or walk for extended periods, and remain composed under pressure.
- Relevant security certifications or licenses (such as SIA or equivalent) and basic knowledge of health and safety regulations are highly beneficial.
- Experience in customer-focused environments and a commitment to OCS TRUE Values—Trust, Respect, Unity, and Empowerment—are an advantage.
