Retail Security Relief Officer - Tesco Partnership

Location: Tesco Jubilee, Mansfield (NG18 3RT)

Pay Rate: £13.47 per hour

Hours: 0 - 35 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 on a flexible rota. Full flexibility required.

Shift Times: Early and late shifts between 06:00 and 00:00. Typical shifts are 07:00 to 14:00 and 14:00/15:00 to 23:00/00:00.

About The Role

Kingdom Group is recruiting a Retail Security Relief Officer to support Tesco stores across the Mansfield area.

This role is ideal for a professional and reliable individual who can work flexibly across multiple sites, providing cover for holidays, sickness, and other absences. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers, colleagues, contractors, and visitors while delivering excellent customer service and representing the Kingdom brand to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol and monitor store premises to maintain safety and security
  • Act as a visible deterrent to theft, damage, trespassing, and anti-social behaviour
  • Prevent unauthorised access to restricted areas
  • Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and emergency situations
  • Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activity
  • Control access for staff, visitors, and contractors
  • Complete accurate incident reports, occurrence logs, and daily records
  • Provide professional customer service and assistance to customers and colleagues
  • Support store teams in maintaining a safe working environment
  • Follow all Health & Safety and company procedures
  • Liaise with Police, Fire, Ambulance, and other emergency services when required
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism at all times

Requirements

  • Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervision or Security Guarding)
  • Full 5-year checkable work history
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Access to your own vehicle (essential)
  • Ability to travel between store locations as required
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Professional, reliable, and confident approach
  • Good observational skills and sound judgement
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Previous security experience desirable but not essential

Relief Cover & Flexibility Requirements

This role involves providing relief cover for holidays, sickness, and other absences across multiple Tesco store locations, including:

  • Tesco New Ollerton - NG22 9PL
  • Tesco Jubilee, Mansfield - NG18 3RT
  • Tesco Chesterfield - NG19 7TS
  • Tesco Lakeside Point, Sutton-in-Ashfield - NG17 4HG
  • Tesco Hucknall - NG15 7UQ

The successful candidate must be able to travel and work within a 10-15 mile radius of the locations listed above.

This is a relief position offering 0-35 hours per week, working 5 days over 7 on a flexible rota. Full flexibility is essential to support business requirements across all designated locations.

Shifts operate between 06:00 and 00:00, with typical shift patterns of 07:00 to 14:00 and 14:00/15:00 to 23:00/00:00. Candidates must be available to work:

  • Early shifts
  • Late shifts
  • Weekends
  • Bank Holidays

Whilst full-time hours cannot be guaranteed initially, there is potential for hours to increase over time, with opportunities to progress into a full-time or core store position, subject to business needs.
