Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Pay: £13.71 per hour
Shift Pattern:
- 42 hours per week
- 4 On / 4 Off rotation
- Day shifts: 06:00 – 18:00
About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer to join the team at BCA Bedford, a busy vehicle auction site. This permanent, full-time role is ideal for a professional and reliable individual who is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, customers, and vehicles.
As part of your duties, you will conduct site patrols using a company vehicle and play a key role in protecting the site while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Control and monitor site access and egress
- Conduct regular patrols of the site using a company vehicle
- Ensure the safety and security of staff, visitors, vehicles, and premises
- Respond to incidents and report security concerns appropriately
- Complete site logs, reports, and all required documentation accurately
- Deal professionally with visitors, contractors, and site personnel
- Support conflict resolution where required
- Maintain high standards of customer service at all times
- Act as a first responder to incidents where trained and appropriate

Requirements
Essential
- Valid SIA Security Licence
- Basic DBS check
- Full UK driving licence
- Must be 21 years of age or over (due to company vehicle insurance requirements)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Good IT and report-writing abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible, reliable, and professional approach
