Security Officer (SIA Door Supervisor) - Edmonton Green Shopping Centre (N9 0TZ)

Location: Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, Edmonton, London, N9 0TZ

Position: Full Time / Temp

Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour

Hours: 30 Hours Per Week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Sunday, 4 on 4 off rotation

Shifts: 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00

Role Overview

We are seeking a professional and customer-focused SIA Door Supervisor to join the security team at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of visitors, tenants, contractors, and staff while maintaining a welcoming environment within the centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols throughout the shopping centre and surrounding areas.
  • Maintain a visible security presence to deter crime and anti-social behaviour.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assistance to visitors.
  • Monitor public areas and respond appropriately to incidents.
  • Enforce centre policies, including no-alcohol and designated smoking area regulations.
  • Assist with lost children, vulnerable persons, and customer enquiries.
  • Support retailers with shoplifting incidents while adhering to company procedures.
  • Monitor and report health and safety hazards, defects, fire risks, and security concerns.
  • Ensure rear fire exits remain clear and accessible.
  • Report all incidents and maintain accurate records.
  • Liaise with emergency services and centre management when required.
  • Carry out inspections of vacant units, common areas, lighting, and security systems.
  • Meet and greet contractors and visitors while maintaining security procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Strong observational and incident reporting skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts.
  • Basic IT skills for reporting and security systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous shopping centre, retail, or customer-facing security experience.
  • Experience dealing with anti-social behaviour and shoplifting incidents.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
  • CCTV experience would be advantageous.
