The Venue

At the heart of Manchester’s cultural life, The Bridgewater Hall is an internationally celebrated concert venue built for musical brilliance. Opened in 1996 by Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh, it delivers over 300 unforgettable performances each year, spanning classical masterpieces to contemporary world music. A place where artists inspire and audiences connect; The Bridgewater Hall is proudly operated by Legends Global.

The Role

The post is responsible for all aspects of the security provision to The Bridgewater Hall including the safety and security of staff, visitors, assets and buildings. This role would suit an individual who is able to cover shifts at short notice.

The Responsibilities

  • Deliver a safe and secure environment for employees, guests, contractors, tenants and venue assets, responding appropriately to security and safety incidents.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for audiences, performers, and employees by monitoring for suspicious behaviour, managing incidents, responding to emergencies (including fire alarms, medical situations, and evacuations), and ensuring compliance with all venue safety procedures.
  • Control access to restricted areas, including backstage, dressing rooms, and technical spaces, by checking tickets, credentials, and authorisations where required, while providing a visible, approachable presence and delivering excellent customer service to patrons.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the theatre and surrounding areas to deter theft, vandalism, and anti-social behaviour; respond appropriately to disturbances, intoxicated persons, or conflict situations; and accurately record, report, and escalate incidents, liaising with emergency services when necessary.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
