We’re Hiring: Security Officer

📍 Location: Gloucestershire

💰 Pay: £14.51 per hour

📅 Hours: 52 hours per week

🌙 Shift Pattern: Nights

Working Hours

  • Friday: 17:00 - 07:00
  • Saturday: 19:00 - 07:00
  • Sunday: 19:00 - 07:00
  • Monday: 17:00 - 07:00

Grade: 3.1 Site Based

As a global leader in the control and efficient use of steam and other industrial fluids, our client is committed to operational excellence, innovation, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and security. As a Security Officer, you will provide a professional security service in accordance with Assignment Instructions and customer requirements, ensuring the protection of employees, visitors, property, and assets. The Security Officer will deliver exceptional customer service while upholding Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness, contributing to a safe and secure working environment. This role requires a proactive and reliable Security Officer who can maintain site security standards and support the customer's operational objectives. Please note that a valid SIA licence must be held before commencing operational duties.

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Provide a professional and visible security presence.
  • Welcome and assist staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Manage access control, visitor procedures, and CCTV monitoring.
  • Conduct internal and external security patrols.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and evacuations.
  • Complete lock-up/unlock procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and support client requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Professional, reliable, and flexible approach.
  • Previous security, front-of-house, or customer service experience.
  • Good IT skills, attention to detail, and report-writing ability.
  • Able to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
  • Valid SIA licence.
  • Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable employment history.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong written and spoken English.
  • Professional appearance and customer-focused approach.
  • Previous experience in corporate security, front-of-house security, or customer service environments.
  • Ability to remain calm and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Good IT literacy and report-writing skills.
  • Flexible, reliable, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
