Casual Security Officer

About the Role

Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking motivated, professional, and reliable individuals to join our Southwater Security Team as Casual Security Officers.

This role is essential in supporting the safety and security of council buildings, staff, residents, and visitors. Successful candidates will provide a visible security presence, respond to incidents, undertake patrols, and assist in maintaining a safe environment across a range of locations.

The position offers flexible working arrangements and is ideal for individuals who can work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out regular patrols of council buildings, car parks, and public spaces.
  • Monitor security systems, including CCTV and alarm systems.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and customer enquiries.
  • Provide a professional and reassuring presence to staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Complete accurate incident reports and maintain relevant records.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety procedures, policies, and legislation.
  • Liaise effectively with emergency services, council departments, and partner agencies.
