Role: Security Officer
Location: Dartford Crossing Estate
Contract: Initial 6-month contract, with a strong possibility of perm
Working Hours & Shift Pattern:
12-hour shifts operating on a 4-on / 4-off rotation schedule (12-hour days or 12-hour nights). 5am - 5pm & 5pm - 5am

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently seeking a Security Officer to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the Dartford Depot by working as an active, key member of a professional Security Team.

- General Public and Emergency Services
- Security Officer colleagues and Security Manager
- CPS staff and management
- National Highways (Highways England) and DVSA personnel
- Contractors and visitors
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Work dynamically as part of a Security Operatives team across key operational areas, including the Kent Marshalling Area (KMA), Security Office, Cycle Transport, and Dartford Security Patrols.
- CCTV Operations: Monitor and operate security CCTV systems continuously.
- Cycle Transport Support: Safely assist and facilitate the transport of cyclists across the River Crossing.
- Patrols & Audits: Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols and audits across the network and depots.
- Incident Response: Respond rapidly and effectively to all security-related incidents.
- Access Control: Manage key issuance and control contractor permits.
- Compliance & Administration: Accurately maintain security procedure audit trails, robustly enforce security policies, and support the Security Office Administrator.
- Safety & Principles: Always adhere to organisational Security Principles with a relentless focus on Zero Harm.

Kent Marshalling Area (KMA) Specific Duties
- Marshal all incoming vehicles into the KMA and monitor the Forward Tanker bay.
- Safely process Dangerous Goods Vehicles in compliance with regulations.
- Provide first-class customer service to drivers, contractors, and visitors.
- Liaise with DVSA officers and emergency services, including preparing KMA as an Emergency Services Rendezvous Point (RVP) when required.
- Execute instructions from the Control Room Manager regarding vehicle movements within and from the KMA.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Experience: Desirable background in customer service, general security, specific security disciplines, and First Aid.
- Licence: Full UK driving licence with the ability to drive a 4x4 patrol vehicle in all weather conditions.
- Customer Service Focus: Courteous, confident, and highly professional manner across all interactions.
- Communication: Clear, objective, and effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Work Ethic & Attributes: Self-motivated, highly organized, flexible, skilled at multi-tasking and problem-solving under pressure.
- Professional Standards: Willingness to travel to other Connect Plus sites, wear corporate uniform, attend training courses, and participate in meetings as required.
