£21,550 - £21,862 per annum, (pro rata to £24,534 - £24,890 per annum), dependent on qualifications & experience

37 hours per week, 39 weeks reduced year contract

2:30 pm – 10:30 pm Monday to Thursday

3:00 pm – 10:30 pm Fridays

Boston College is currently looking to recruit a Security Officer to work within our existing Security team, based at the Rochford campus on Skirbeck Road. You will be responsible for the evening security of the College premises, external Boston college sites and their contents.

The main duties will include:

  • Responding to matters concerning the security and safety of college users
  • Being a key holder for all Boston sites
  • First aid duties
  • Responding to intruder alarm and fire alarm activations whilst on duty
  • Making regular patrols of the grounds and recording details of any incidents in the appropriate format
  • Reporting any defective / damaged assets to the Estates team

The successful candidate will be required to be physically fit and able to be on their feet for long periods of time. Hold S.I.A Door supervisor and CCTV licenses / First Aid certificate / Valid UK driving licence / Enhanced DBS Certificate or be able to obtain all the above.

Boston college is an outstanding learning facility and high paced environment so thinking on your feet and being able to act quickly is key. Good time management and the ability to perform under pressure; able to work on lone tasks or part of a team. Have good interpersonal skills and be I.T literate.

Previous experience in an educational environment would be advantageous but not essential.

There may be a requirement of this post to work bank holidays including Christmas.
