We’re Hiring: Security Officer

📍 Location: Romsey, SO51 0ZN

💰 Pay: 13.50 per hour

📅 Hours: 36 hours - Fri, Sat & Sun Days

About the Role

A leading technology and innovation organisation delivering advanced solutions across defence, national security, and critical infrastructure sectors. As a Security Officer, you will support a high-profile site carrying out mission-critical operations. The Security Officer will help maintain a safe and secure environment through proactive monitoring, patrols, and excellent customer service. This is an exciting opportunity for a Security Officer to work within a professional team while upholding Securitas' values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness.

Job Description

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

  • Key Responsibilities & Opportunities
    • Lead, support, and develop a team of Security Officers, ensuring all personnel remain trained, licensed, and compliant.
    • Manage team rotas, shift coverage, performance, and professional standards across the site.
    • Act as the first point of contact for security incidents, operational issues, and client requests.
    • Maintain accurate site records, reports, investigations, and documentation.
    • Monitor and report faults with CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, training, and development.
    • Uphold Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness at all times.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Valid SIA Licence.
  • Previous experience as a Security Officer or similar customer-facing environment.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to manage incidents calmly, professionally, and effectively.
  • Experience completing reports, investigations, and security documentation.
  • Good understanding of health & safety and security procedures.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Full right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable employment and address history.
  • Must be a UK National and have resided in the UK for the last 5 years due to site requirements.
  • Strong written and spoken English skills.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC).
