We're Hiring: Security Officer

📍 Location: Caldicot, UK

💰 Pay: £12.99 per hour

📅 Hours: 42 hours per week | 4 on, 4 off | Nights

Are you an experienced Security Officer looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a professional and reliable Security Officer to join our team at an excellent site location in Caldicot. This role offers a great working environment and the opportunity to make a real difference in maintaining a safe and secure environment.

To provide a security service at the working location in line with the Assignment Instructions and customer requirements in order to protect the customer’s employees, property, and other assets. The Security Officer will deliver the highest levels of customer service while consistently demonstrating Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. The Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment, responding to incidents appropriately, and ensuring all site procedures and policies are followed. The Security Officer must work professionally at all times while effectively communicating with customers, visitors, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

Job Description

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

  • Welcoming and assisting staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Conducting regular safety and security patrols.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures.
  • Supporting emergency protocols, including evacuations and searches.
  • Keeping vigilant, reporting incidents, and preventing disruption.
  • Accurately maintaining records of all activity and handovers.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • A valid SIA Licence (required before starting operational shifts)
  • A First Aid qualification
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within the security industry
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends when required
  • The right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable work history
  • British nationality and 5 years of continuous UK residency (due to site requirements)
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • A willingness to undertake a Fire Safety course provided by the company
  • A reasonable commuting distance to the site
  • Good organisational and time management skills

Please note: The successful Security Officer must have acquired a full SIA Licence before being able to commence operational duties.
