The Role

Carlisle Support Services is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and dedicated individuals to join our team working within a busy multi-storey car park environment for one of our prestigious clients. If you are professional, approachable, and willing to learn new skills to develop your career, we will provide full training and ongoing support to help you succeed in the role.

Location: CW7 1BD

Pay: £14.15 per hour

Hours: This role operates on a rolling rota averaging around 40–42 hours per week. Officers typically work a pattern of 4 shifts one week and 3 shifts the next, alternating on a continuous cycle.

Example Rota (to be finalised)

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 07:30-20:00, Sunday 10:00-16:00
  • Week 2: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 07:30-20:00

Your core role will include but not be limited to the following activities:

  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the multi-storey car park, providing a strong deterrent against anti-social behaviour, theft, and unauthorised activity.
  • Conduct regular patrols across all levels of the site, identifying and reporting any security, safety, or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Monitor vehicle and pedestrian access points, ensuring the site remains safe and secure at all times.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, taking appropriate action in line with site procedures.
  • Accurately record incidents, defects, alarm activations, and daily activity reports, escalating concerns where necessary.
  • Provide a helpful and approachable first point of contact for customers, offering guidance and assistance when needed.
  • Support a safe environment for customers, visitors, and colleagues through proactive monitoring, engagement, and conflict management where required.
  • Work effectively as part of the wider site and security team, maintaining strong communication and professionalism at all times.

Is This You?

  • At least 18 years old – Required to work in a licensable role
  • SIA Door Supervision licence
  • 5 years checkable work and address history
  • Reliable, punctual, flexible, and smart in appearance
  • Friendly, approachable, and always professional
  • Enthusiastic and motivated to do a great job
  • Ideally some experience within a Security environment or a customer-facing role
  • Able to interact with clients and customers in a positive manner
  • Some experience working within a Security environment and experience of lone working
  • Effective people skills, able to interact with clients and customers in a positive manner
