Security Officer - Signature Aviation, Luton FBO

Full and Part time positions available on a Fixed-term basis

Salary from £29k per annum for full time positions

About the role:

As a Security Officer, you’ll be monitoring and maintaining access control and car parking on-site in line with policy, checking identification and travel documents of all passengers, staff and airport users requiring access. You’ll be screening all passengers, belongings, items, and vehicles to the required standards through methodical and standardised methods and ensuring all passengers/items have been subject to the necessary screening in line with the NASP.

Other duties will include:

  • Ensuring all staff and visitor IDs are valid with the appropriate colour code and access zones in line with policies.
  • Acting as the first point of contact in resolving or escalating any access alarms, breaches, or system failures, as well as for any passenger, staff, or visitor queries.
  • Assisting our Airside team with basic duties including wing walking, chocks cones, aircraft arrival and departure procedure, as well as the transport of crew to and from hotels, airport, and aircraft.
  • Assisting our Customer Service and Front of House teams, playing an active part in the customer journey including luggage, escorting visitor’s landside and airside and maintaining standards of the FBO

About you:

You will have strong communication and listening skills with a good understanding of the principles of equality and diversity our customers have grown to expect from their time at Signature Aviation. You will be a strong team player with the ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure and in an ever-changing environment.

Due to the secure nature of the role, holding a current DBS (or having no disqualifying criminal convictions and being able to obtain one), a CTC clearance (or having a minimum of 3 years UK residency and being able to obtain one) and passing a colour perception test (sufficient to use colour X-ray equipment and to check passes with colour codes) are essential requirements of the role.

The role will requires candidates to successfully pass Level 1 / Aviation GSO certification. The role requires flexibility of start and finish times (within the shift pattern) with occasional overtime during busy periods.
