Job Summary

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and property at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, maintaining a secure and welcoming environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises, including guest areas, back-of-house, and perimeters, to identify and deter potential security threats.
  • Monitor CCTV systems and alarm panels, responding promptly to any suspicious activity or alarms.
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents, including theft, disturbances, and emergencies, documenting findings accurately.
  • Assist guests and employees with security-related concerns, providing information and guidance as needed.
  • Enforce hotel policies and procedures to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
  • Manage access control for staff, contractors, and visitors, ensuring proper authorization.
  • Provide first aid and emergency response when required, collaborating with local emergency services.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs.
  • Maintain a visible and professional presence, acting as a deterrent to crime.
  • Participate in training and drills related to security, fire safety, and emergency procedures.

  • Previous experience in a security role, preferably within a luxury hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor license (or equivalent recognized security qualification).
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Basic computer literacy for report writing and system monitoring.
  • First Aid qualification is desirable.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A professional and discreet demeanor, upholding the high standards of Mandarin Oriental.
