Shift Pattern

  • 7 on (3 days / 4 nights), 3 rest
  • 7 on (4 days / 3 nights), 4 rest

Rest Days:

  • 3 rest days will always be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
  • 4 rest days will always be Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Shifts:

  • All shifts are 12 hours.
  • Days: 07:00 to 19:00
  • Nights: 19:00 to 07:00

Saturday Exception:

  • Days: 07:00-15:00
  • Nights: No officer required

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the distribution centre, ensuring only authorized employees, drivers, contractors, and visitors enter the premises.
  • Operate the security gatehouse, including checking vehicles, drivers, delivery documentation, and visitor identification.
  • Monitor CCTV, intruder alarms, fire alarms, and other security systems, reporting and escalating suspicious activity or incidents.
  • Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the warehouse, loading bays, car parks, perimeter, and yard areas.
  • Monitor vehicles entering and leaving the site and carry out security checks in accordance with company procedures.
  • Manage the sign-in/sign-out process for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers.
  • Issue and control visitor/contractor passes and maintain accurate access records.
  • Protect company stock, property, vehicles, equipment, and confidential information against theft, damage, or unauthorized access.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, accidents, emergencies, alarms, and health-and-safety concerns.
  • Record incidents accurately in the security logbook and incident reporting system, escalating serious matters to management or emergency services where necessary.
  • Liaise professionally with warehouse colleagues, managers, drivers, contractors, and members of the public.
  • Assist with investigations into theft, loss, damage, accidents, or breaches of site security.
  • Ensure all security duties are carried out in accordance with the site's Assignment Instructions, company procedures, health and safety requirements, and UK law.
  • Maintain a high level of vigilance in a fast-paced distribution and logistics environment.
  • Carry out opening/closing, key-holding, and locking/unlocking procedures where required.
  • Provide assistance during emergencies, including evacuation procedures and contacting emergency services when necessary.
  • Maintain a professional, approachable, and customer-focused attitude while enforcing site security procedures.

Requirements

  • Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence (essential)
  • Driving Licence (preferred, not essential)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Five-year checkable employment history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment
  • Be reliable and trustworthy
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Training

Your first 4 shifts are training shifts. Full training will be provided.
