Working across all University sites, main duties for the role will include:
- Patrolling University grounds and properties using University vehicles and on foot
- Responding to incidents and alarms
- Implementing crime prevention measures in consultation with the Security management team
- Working in the Security control room operating CCTV equipment
- Providing detailed, accurate written reports
- Carrying out duties in accordance with the Universities traffic control regulations to control car parking and traffic flow
Candidate Requirements
- Substantial experience of working in a similar customer facing role
- Ability to record and analyse information and produce accurate written reports
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Full UK Category B driving licence with no automatic-only restriction (code 78)
- Experience of working in a similar security role is desirable

This is a permanent, full-time post (36.25 per week), made up of rotational shifts (12 hour shifts through a 24-hour period) flexibility to work any shift is required. Job share arrangements may be considered for this post. Further details regarding the shift pattern and duties for this post are attached to this advert.

Please note that the salary advertised is based on a basic salary of £26,908 - £28,890 per annum, PLUS shift allowance of £5,947 which is subject to change. Shift allowance is only applied to specific roles within the University and therefore will not be carried forward to any additional roles undertaken at the University where this allowance does not apply.
It is a condition of this post that the holder completes or holds Security Industry Authority licensing in the licensable areas of Door Supervision and Public space surveillance (CCTV). The University will pay for the training and licensing.
