Security Officer (Nights)

Location: Halifax

Pay: £14.00 per hour

Hours: 48-60 hours per week (average 54 hours)

Immediate Start Available

Laing O'Rourke, in partnership with Select Security, is recruiting a team of professional Security Officers to support one of our major construction projects in Halifax.

This is a long-term opportunity working predominantly night shifts, with some weekend day shifts as required. We are seeking reliable, vigilant, and professional individuals who are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment on a busy construction site.

About The Role

As a Security Officer, you will play a key role in protecting the site, its personnel, equipment, and assets. You will be responsible for preventing unauthorised access and helping ensure the safety of workers, visitors, and members of the public.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Conducting regular foot patrols of the site and surrounding areas.
  • Monitoring access points and controlling site entry.
  • Preventing unauthorised access and responding to security incidents.
  • Carrying out routine security inspections and health & safety checks.
  • Reporting hazards, incidents, and breaches in accordance with site procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing incident reports where required.
  • Providing a professional and courteous presence at all times.

About You

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • A valid SIA licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervisor, or Close Protection).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in site security, construction security, or a similar environment.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a larger security team.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • A professional approach, with sound judgement and high levels of integrity.
  • The ability to remain calm, observant, and proactive in a dynamic working environment.
