We’re Hiring: Security Officer

📍 Location: Hazelwood, UK

💰 Pay: £13.23 per hour

📅 Hours: Shift pattern: 12 hour shifts - 42 hours per week average - nights only

The Security Officer plays a vital role in protecting employees, property, and business assets at Keysight, a highly rated employer renowned for delivering market-leading design, emulation, and test solutions that help engineers develop and deploy new technologies faster and with less risk across the communications, aerospace, automotive, and electronics industries. The Security Officer is responsible for providing a professional security service in accordance with assignment instructions and customer requirements, while delivering exceptional customer service at all times. Demonstrating Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness, the Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and operations, ensuring the site remains protected, efficient, and fully operational.

Responsibilities

Job Description

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

Protection of Property and Premises

  • Prevent unauthorised access and monitor alarms/CCTV.
  • Conduct regular internal and external patrols.
  • Manage traffic, parking, keys, and locking/unlocking duties.
  • Carry out routine equipment checks and maintain records/logbooks.
  • Issue visitor passes and manage site equipment per procedures.
  • Handle lost property in line with instructions.

Health and Safety

  • Support staff, visitors, and contractors to ensure site safety.
  • Follow and enforce health and safety procedures, reporting hazards and incidents.
  • Keep emergency routes clear at all times.
  • Report use and shortages of First Aid supplies.
  • Notify SOC in emergencies and follow instructions.
  • Investigate all fire alarm activations.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone proactive, reliable, and committed to delivering high standards, with a strong team mindset. You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

  • SIA Licence
  • Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history
  • No criminal record
  • Previous security experience
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with shift pattern
  • Full driving licence and own transport
  • Always delivering excellent customer service
