Security Officer – National Grid Training Centre, Newark
📍 Location: Newark
💷 Pay Rate: £13.67 per hour
⏰ Hours: 42 hours per week
🔄 Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (12-hour Days & Nights)

This is an exciting opportunity to work at a high-profile site where you'll play a vital role in protecting people, property and critical infrastructure while delivering outstanding customer service.

What You'll Be Doing
Security Operations
- Providing a highly visible security presence across the site.
- Conducting internal and external patrols.
- Managing access control and visitor procedures.
- Monitoring site activity and responding to incidents appropriately.
- Maintaining accurate records and completing incident reports.
- Following site assignment instructions and operational procedures.
- Supporting emergency response procedures when required.
- Working closely with site management and the wider security team to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

- Identifying and reporting potential hazards and security risks.
- Ensuring compliance with site policies and procedures.
- Responding confidently and professionally to incidents and emergencies.
- Promoting a safe working environment for all site users.
Training & Development
- Completing all mandatory training and competency requirements.
- Taking ownership of your professional development.
- Maintaining an up-to-date SIA licence and relevant certifications.
- Learning new skills and embracing opportunities for career progression.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence
- Previous security experience
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- IT literacy and confidence using workplace technology
- Flexible approach to working days, nights, weekends and public holidays

- First Aid qualification
