Retail Support Security Officer

Location: Bury St Edmunds (covering Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Ely, Haverhill, Sudbury and Thetford)

Pay: £13.72 per hour

Hours: 36+ hours per week (Flexi Contract)

Shifts: 06:00–15:00 / 15:00–00:00

Requirements: Valid SIA Security Licence, SIA Door Supervisor Licence and own vehicle essential

About The Role

Kingdom Group, a trusted partner to Tesco, is looking for professional, customer-focused, and flexible Retail Support Security Officers to join our growing team.

This is a varied and rewarding role supporting multiple Tesco stores across the Bury St Edmunds area. You will provide a strong and visible security presence, helping to create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues whilst delivering excellent levels of customer service.

This position is ideal for individuals who are adaptable, proactive, and comfortable travelling between locations to provide operational support and cover where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrolling stores to ensure the safety of customers, colleagues, and premises.
  • Acting as a visible deterrent to theft, loss, and anti-social behaviour.
  • Monitoring store activity and responding appropriately to incidents.
  • Supporting store colleagues in maintaining a safe retail environment.
  • Completing accurate incident reports and documentation.
  • Handling challenging situations calmly, confidently, and professionally.
  • Delivering excellent customer service and assisting customers where required.
  • Working across multiple Tesco locations to provide relief cover and operational support.

Store Coverage Area

Successful Candidates Will Be Required To Support Stores Across

  • Bury St Edmunds
  • Newmarket
  • Ely
  • Haverhill
  • Sudbury
  • Thetford

Applicants must be flexible regarding working locations and able to travel between stores as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Valid SIA Security Licence.
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
  • Full 5-year checkable work history.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Professional, confident, and reliable approach.
  • Good attention to detail and sound judgement.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Previous retail security experience desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Own transport is essential.
