At Wilson James, we know that great security isn't just about procedures and protocols - it's about people. The best teams are built on a mix of perspectives, experiences, and strengths, and we've seen first-hand how diversity improves decision-making, communication, and the overall service we deliver.
Women continue to be under-represented in the security industry, and we want to help change that. Not by excluding anyone, but by opening doors wider. We value the different viewpoints women bring - from strong interpersonal skills and calm conflict resolution to the ability to build trust quickly with clients and the public. These qualities strengthen our teams and enhance the environments we protect.
That's why we're actively encouraging more women to consider a career in security with us. We're committed to creating an inclusive, supportive workplace where everyone can thrive, and we're investing in development, training, and progression opportunities to make sure that happens.
It's about building a workforce that reflects the communities we serve and recognising the value that diverse voices bring to our organisation. Security is a career for everyone - and we're here to support more women to step into it with confidence.
We're growing our security team and are committed to improving gender diversity across the industry. As part of this, we actively encourage women to apply for our Security Officer opportunities. All applications will be assessed fairly and equally, and the role is open to everyone.
This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team, build your skills, and play an important role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for our clients and their customers. We have a range of positions available from part time to full time and zero hours.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
