LOCATION: EASTGATE SHOPPING CENTRE, SS14 1EB
SHIFT PATTERN: 5 on 2 off, Days and Night, 44 hours per week
PAY RATE: £13.33 per hour

Job Objective & Responsibilities:
We are looking for a security officer who is a team player who is flexible, proactive, and has report writing experience. Calm under pressure and able to respond to emergency situations. Strong IT experience and knowledge. Reporting to the soft service manager supervisor and delivery of Security within the Shopping Centre environment. You will need to be an excellent communicator with common sense and a can-do attitude.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage all shopping centre procedures in line with the codes of practice
- Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in the site Assignment Instructions, being always proactive
- Support and provide guidance with soft service manager and shopping centre management
- Liaise closely with statutory authorities and security supervisor with dealing with incidents and the provision of information
- Controlling and prioritising incidents ensuring all key personnel are always kept fully informed and agreed escalation procedures are followed
- Manage and monitor access & egress to and from the service yards and management office
- Ensuring that the shopping centre is a safe and non-threatening environment for all customers and site staff.
- Support the soft service manager to ensure the necessary security audits are undertaken and any noncompliance highlighted and managed to completion
- Manage excellent relationships with our client, our suppliers, and other partners
- Interact with all visitors and tenants within the shopping centre, delivering first-class customer-focused service
- Aid third-party contractors/visitors ensuring all site procedures and policies are adhered to

Requirements
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge of the local area
- Excellent levels of customer service always
- Demonstrated ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
- To have a smart appearance befitting the company
- To respond to all incidents, taking ownership of the situation through to its natural conclusion to both client and management satisfaction
- Effective communication with the Client, Soft service Manager, Security Shift Supervisor, and Security
Essential
- A valid SIA Door supervision license
Desirable
- A valid SIA Public space surveillance (CCTV) licence
- CCTV/Security control room experience
