Security Guard - Stornoway Deep Water Terminal (HS1 2AE)

Employer: Kingdom Services Group Ltd

Location: Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1 2AE

Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour

Hours: 60 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 19:00

Role Overview

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Security Guard to join a security team supporting a developing construction site at the Stornoway Deep Water Terminal. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining site security, controlling access, monitoring activity, and responding to incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site patrols and monitor security risks.
  • Control access for vehicles, personnel, and deliveries.
  • Ensure only authorised individuals enter restricted areas.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and security incidents.
  • Maintain accurate incident and activity records.
  • Use security systems and communication technology.
  • Promote a strong security culture across the site.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid SIA Security Guard Licence (or willingness to complete training, with costs recovered at £36 per month from wages).
  • Full 5-year checkable employment history.
  • Full driving licence and own transport.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and self-motivated approach.

  • Workers will initially be engaged through Kingdom's recruitment service arrangements and paid through HIVE 360 Payroll Services.

Ideal Candidate

This role would suit an SIA-licensed security professional with construction site or industrial security experience, strong access control knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work long shifts in a remote location. The ability to drive and reliable transport are essential.
