Security Officer – Romsey, UK

📍 Location: Romsey, UK ⏰ Hours: 36 hrs contract (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays) 💰 Pay: £13.50 per hour

About the Role

As a Security Officer, you’ll help maintain a safe and secure environment by protecting people, property, and assets while delivering excellent customer service.

You’ll work in line with Assignment Instructions and site procedures to ensure the highest standards of safety and security. This role demands demonstrable integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness at all times.

Critical Requirement: A full and valid SIA Licence is mandatory before starting operational shifts.


Responsibilities

Your role includes:

  • Protecting sites, assets, and people through:
    • Regular patrols
    • CCTV monitoring
    • Access control
  • Completing assigned duties while maintaining accurate incident logs and enforcing site safety procedures.
  • Supporting health and safety by:
    • Reporting hazards
    • Assisting with evacuations
    • Responding to alarms
  • Preventing incidents such as loss, theft, or damage, and escalating suspicious activity.
  • Operating security equipment and following stop-and-search policies.
  • Providing exceptional customer service, including:
    • Handling calls efficiently
    • Assisting visitors professionally
    • Ensuring smooth shift handover procedures
  • Supporting management and upholding Securitas’ core values: Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

To be considered, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Valid SIA License (must be in place before shift onset or be actively working toward it)
  • UK right to work
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Five-year checkable work history
  • No criminal convictions (after thorough background checks)
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional approach
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Commitment to protecting people, property, and assets
  • Demonstrable qualities of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness

You must also work independently as well as collaboratively with team members.


Desirable (but not mandatory):

  • Full UK driving licence (essential for rural location logistics)
  • First Aid Certification
  • Experience in corporate, defence, or high-security environments
