Role Description The Security Officer is a full-time, on-site role based at Jubilee Market Hall in London. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers, traders, and staff by monitoring the premises, conducting regular patrols, and managing access points. The Security Officer will collaborate with market management and external partners as needed, complete incident reports, and ensure that health, safety, and security policies are followed. The role also involves providing a visible security presence, offering assistance to visitors, and upholding the market’s standards of professionalism and customer care.

Qualifications

  • Ability to monitor premises, conduct security patrols, and respond calmly and effectively to incidents and emergencies.
  • Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and capability to identify and report safety or security risks promptly.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, traders, colleagues, and external partners in a professional manner.
  • Capacity to follow established procedures, complete clear incident reports, and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Experience in security, facilities, or customer-facing roles in busy public or retail environments is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, work shifts including weekends and holidays, and adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Relevant security training or certification (such as an SIA licence or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming market environment.
