Role Description
Security Officers and Door Supervisors are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors at venues and sites in Southampton.

- Day-to-Day Tasks:
- Monitoring entrances and exits
- Conducting access control checks
- Performing regular security patrols
- Responding to incidents in a calm and professional manner

Responsibilities:
- Checking identification
- Managing queues
- Enforcing venue policies
- De-escalating potential conflicts while maintaining a visible and approachable presence

Additional Duties:
- Completing incident reports
- Liaising with venue management and local authorities when required
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and safety requirements
This is an on-site role based in Southampton, and may involve evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license and a strong understanding of UK security and safety regulations.
- Experience in access control, crowd management, and venue or event security operations.
- Skills in conflict management, de-escalation techniques, and situational awareness to identify and address potential risks.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, venue staff, and members of the public.
- Ability to write clear incident reports, follow procedures, and maintain accurate records.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Good physical fitness suitable for standing for long periods, patrolling, and responding quickly to incidents.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or customer-facing roles is beneficial but not essential.
