Mobile Patrolling Security Officer

Laing O'Rourke, in partnership with Select Security, are currently recruiting a skilled team of Security Officers for one of our major infrastructure projects. This important project covers a large working corridor running from Grimsby down to Walpole. Current roles include night security officers working 12-hour shifts, with working patterns varying between 48-60 hours per week on a long-term, ongoing basis. This is an excellent opportunity for committed security professionals seeking stable, long-term employment.

We are looking for professional, experienced and reliable security officers who have experience in protecting premises and construction sites, with a focus on ensuring that no unauthorised intruders or members of the public enter unsafe or restricted areas. Your main role will be to maintain the safety and security of our construction sites throughout the project corridor. This role will be mainly mobile in nature, using a site vehicle to patrol remote working locations, conducting regular security sweeps, and responding promptly to CCTV activations and alarm alerts across the working area. You will play a vital role in protecting our assets, personnel, and the surrounding communities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
