SecOps Analyst L2/L3 | Outside IR35 Contract | Hybrid
Rate: £320/day
On-call rotations: 1-in-4 weeks – compensated
Hybrid: 2 days a week onsite in London OR Liverpool
Industry: Highly Regulated Firm
Job Summary
Our client is looking for a strong Security Operations Engineer - hands-on L2/L3 security analyst where you would respond to escalated incidents and drive the investigations yourself, acting as the technical SME in their cyber incident response team, and maintain key security platforms. You will have to carry out hands-on analysis rather than operating in a purely administrative SOC environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to escalated cyber security events and drive investigations through to resolution
- Work closely with external security providers to improve monitoring and alert handling
- Review security data and identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Act as a technical contributor within cyber incident response activities
- Support the administration and optimisation of security technologies across the estate
- Contribute to security initiatives including phishing, DLP, and identity security improvements

Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience within Security Operations, SOC, or Cyber Defence environments
- Strong technical troubleshooting L2/L3 and investigative skills across multiple platforms
- Ability to analyse security incidents independently and communicate findings clearly
- Experience working with security monitoring, detection, and response tooling
- Knowledge of cyber incident management and security best practices
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with a broad range of technologies
