We're recruiting a Principal Security Operations Specialist to join a major cybersecurity transformation programme delivering new security technologies, processes and operational capabilities. This is a key technical leadership role focused on designing, building and implementing Security Operations capabilities before transitioning them into BAU teams. You'll work independently, helping shape requirements, challenge existing approaches and drive delivery from concept through to operational handover.
You'll bring deep, hands-on Security Operations experience across areas such as incident response, threat hunting, digital forensics, malware analysis, network analysis and detection engineering. Using your understanding of the evolving threat landscape, you'll translate threat intelligence into practical security outcomes, developing new detection capabilities, investigations and response processes. This role requires someone who can confidently recommend solutions, influence stakeholders and provide expert guidance without relying heavily on existing operational teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
