Level 3 SOC Analyst
Location: Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland (Hybrid - 2 days onsite, 3 days WFH)
Salary: Up to £60,000 + package
NOTE: Due to the nature of the work, you for this opportunity must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Level 3 SOC Analyst to join a growing cyber security function supporting the detection, investigation and response to security threats across enterprise environments.
This role is ideal for an experienced SOC Analyst or a strong Level 2 Analyst ready to step up into a more senior position, with opportunities to mentor junior team members and contribute to the evolution of security operations capabilities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Investigating and responding to complex cyber security incidents and escalations
- Conducting proactive threat hunting and leveraging threat intelligence to identify emerging risks
- Monitoring, analysing and tuning security alerts across Microsoft security technologies
- Supporting and enhancing SIEM and detection engineering capabilities
- Working with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Entra Identity, and Microsoft cloud security services
- Analysing logs and events across Windows and Linux environments
- Developing and improving SOC processes, playbooks and response procedures
- Mentoring and supporting junior analysts within the SOC team
- Collaborating with infrastructure and security teams to strengthen the organisation's security posture

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working within a Security Operations Centre environment
- Strong incident investigation, threat analysis and security monitoring experience
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, ideally Microsoft Sentinel
- Good understanding of threat intelligence, networking and Linux systems
- Experience with Microsoft security technologies including Defender, Sentinel, Identity and Cloud security tools
- Ability to mentor or provide guidance to less experienced analysts
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable Experience
- SC-200 (Microsoft Security Operations Analyst) certification
- Experience working within Microsoft-centric security environments
- Threat hunting and detection engineering experience
- Exposure to automation and SOAR technologies
- Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISSP or CISMP
