Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Security Operations Centre Manager to join our Profit Protection team.

This is a key leadership role responsible for the effective running of our 24-hour Security Operations Centre (SOC) and Incident Support team, ensuring we provide a proactive and effective service across our Retail and Logistics operations.

You will lead and develop a high-performing team, creating a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement. Alongside overseeing day-to-day operations, you will play an important role in identifying and reducing risks to the business, protecting our colleagues and assets, supporting business continuity and developing solutions to emerging security challenges.

As a key member of the Profit Protection leadership team, you will work closely with stakeholders across the business and externally, lead key projects and explore new technologies that can strengthen the way we identify, prevent and respond to criminality and security risks.

Job Overview

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the 24-hour Security Operations Centre ensuring an effective and proactive service is provided across Retail and Logistics.
  • Build, lead and develop a highly motivated team, creating a culture focused on high performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all incidents and actions are recorded accurately including facial recognition, with appropriate records maintained by the team.
  • Develop, validate and implement strategies to reduce security and operational risks, protect company assets and colleagues, support compliance and maintain business continuity.
  • Oversee the management and escalation of security incidents and queries, ensuring appropriate action is taken and disruption to the business is minimised.
  • Lead more detailed root cause analysis into significant or high-risk incidents, identifying trends and implementing longer-term solutions to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
  • Act as the senior decision maker for security-related issues in the absence of the Senior Profit Protection Manager.
  • Lead key projects from initial planning through to implementation, ensuring objectives, timescales and expected outcomes are achieved.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the business to ensure an effective and coordinated response to incidents and emerging risks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the Security Operations Centre continues to meet the needs of its customers.
  • Drive internal theft awareness initiatives and training across the business.
  • Identify and evaluate technologies that could improve colleague safety and support the identification and prevention of criminal activity.
  • Ensure all incidents and actions are recorded accurately, with appropriate records maintained by the team.
  • Produce timely and accurate reporting, providing stakeholders with meaningful information on incidents, risks, trends and performance.
  • Play an active role within the Profit Protection leadership team, identifying potential challenges and bringing forward practical, solution-focused recommendations.
  • Continually review processes and ways of working to identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Security Operations Centre.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
