Security Operations Manager
Location: London
Working Arrangement: Hybrid, with flexible working options available
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Overview
Our client is an international insurance business seeking a Security Operations Manager to lead its global security operations and cyber incident response capability.
The role is responsible for the operational and technical delivery of a 24/7 security operations model, overseeing the identification, management and remediation of cyber security incidents across multiple regions.
The successful candidate will lead global and distributed teams, strengthen security operations processes, improve organisational resilience and work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the organisation is prepared to respond effectively to evolving cyber threats.
Responsibilities
- Lead global security operations and incident response services across a 24/7 environment.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of threat monitoring and cyber incident response.
- Maintain consistent security operations and incident response processes across all regions.
- Manage cyber security incidents, including escalation, communication and executive reporting.
- Support effective collaboration between regional teams within a follow-the-sun operating model.
- Drive SOC 2 Type II certification and ongoing compliance with relevant security standards.
- Develop and deliver security reporting and metrics for executive leadership and the Board.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with NIST and industry best practice.
- Work with senior stakeholders to strengthen the organisation’s security posture and resilience.
- Ensure effective governance and consistency across global security operations.

Requirements
- Extensive experience in security operations, incident response or broader cyber security functions.
- Proven leadership experience managing technical, global or distributed teams.
- Strong technical understanding of security technologies, infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Ability to manage complex cyber security incidents.
- Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
