We’re seeking an experienced SOC Manager to lead the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) for a major UK organisation. This role is strategic, high‑visibility and central to ensuring cyber readiness, resilience and effective incident response across a complex national estate.
You’ll define and deliver the CSOC capability, lead real‑time detection and response to cyber incidents, and shape the organisation’s cyber operations strategy in line with threat posture and government direction.
This position is subject to national security vetting. Candidates must meet the criteria to undergo clearance.
What you’ll lead
- End‑to‑end delivery of the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC)
- Real‑time detection, triage and response to cyber security incidents and data breaches
- Senior stakeholder engagement and coordination with external agencies
- Development and continuous improvement of the cyber incident response plan
- Governance, tooling and staffing strategy for the CSOC
- Use‑case driven logging, monitoring and response capability
- Vulnerability identification, remediation planning and cyber resilience activities
- Analysis of network traffic, behaviours and security posture
- Strategic advice to senior leadership on monitoring, logging and incident response

Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a SOC Manager in a complex or high‑risk environment
- Strategic mindset with the ability to define direction and deploy resources effectively
- Strong leadership and team‑management capability
- Deep knowledge of incident management processes
- Demonstrated delivery of effective security monitoring capabilities
- Experience delivering threat intelligence and assessment
- Hands‑on experience with cyber security tools and solutions
- Strong vendor and MSSP management experience

Typical Skills & Knowledge
- Security event monitoring, correlation tooling, IDS/IPS, antivirus, logging
- Cyber security regulations & frameworks: GDPR, NIS, NCSC
- ITIL
- MITRE ATT&CK
- Threat monitoring, intelligence gathering and vulnerability management
- Incident response management
Desirable
- CISSP, CISM or equivalent
- Cloud security experience (AWS, Azure)
- ITIL Foundation
- Experience in government, regulated or large‑scale environments
