Security Operations Engineer – Leading Global Hedge Fund
We are looking for an experienced Security Operations Engineer to join the security function of a leading global hedge fund.
Technology sits at the heart of the business, supporting investment professionals, quantitative researchers and engineers operating across highly sophisticated trading and research environments. As the organisation continues to scale, security is critical to protecting its infrastructure, applications, data and users.
This role sits within Security Operations and will focus on identifying, investigating and responding to security threats while continuously improving the firm's detection and response capabilities.

You will work across a complex technology estate spanning cloud, endpoints, identity, networks and production infrastructure.
Rather than simply responding to alerts, you will be expected to take an engineering-led approach to security operations – automating repetitive processes, developing new detections and improving the tooling used to identify and respond to threats.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring, investigating and responding to security events across the firm's technology environment
- Performing detailed analysis of suspicious activity and potential security incidents
- Developing and tuning SIEM detections, alerts and correlation rules
- Conducting proactive threat hunting across endpoints, identity, cloud and network telemetry
- Building automation to improve investigation and incident-response workflows
- Working with engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities and strengthen security controls
- Improving visibility across cloud and on-premise infrastructure
- Supporting incident response, including investigation, containment and root-cause analysis
- Evaluating emerging threats and translating them into actionable detections
- Helping develop security tooling and operational processes as the firm's environment continues to scale
