Work on Technology That Protects What Matters
We're looking for a Security Platform Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering secure, mission-critical technology for Defence and National Security customers.
This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud-native technologies in highly secure environments, helping to build and maintain the platforms that underpin critical operational systems. You'll work alongside software engineers, DevOps specialists, architects, and security professionals to ensure security is embedded throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
If you're passionate about Kubernetes, cloud security, automation, and modern security tooling, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Security Platform Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining security tooling across cloud-native platforms. You'll help improve security visibility, automate operational processes, and ensure platforms remain resilient, secure, and compliant.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Deploying, configuring, and maintaining security tooling within Kubernetes environments.
- Administering SIEM platforms such as Splunk for monitoring, alerting, and log management.
- Deploying and maintaining vulnerability management platforms including Nessus.
- Managing endpoint security tooling and EDR deployments.
- Integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows.
- Automating security processes using Infrastructure as Code and scripting.
- Supporting Kubernetes observability using tools such as Fluent Bit, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Working closely with Platform, DevOps, and Software Engineering teams to embed security throughout the development lifecycle.
- Maintaining configuration, documentation, and infrastructure as code.
- Supporting security investigations and helping improve monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
- Contributing to platform hardening, vulnerability remediation, and continuous security improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
