Role Overview

Our client, a group of companies, is seeking to recruit an additional Security Officer to join their new and evolving in-house security team.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a candidate looking to grow and evolve their security career, learning from highly experienced mentors and subject matter experts. You will be a key part of a growing team that is seeking to develop a cutting-edge security capability, making best use of world-class techniques and emerging technology to protect a highly varied range of sites and assets across the enterprise.

The position is shift-based, covering days, nights, weekends and bank holidays, with shift patterns in place to ensure round-the-clock security coverage for the client. You will work 3-day, 3-night and 3-off rotation, allowing you to plan your work cycle several months in advance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ops Control Room triage: You will primarily be responsible for monitoring, assessing and managing the collective risk-based ecosystem across the property and site portfolio primarily from the ‘Ops Room’ for the duration of your shift. You will be expected to learn the normal activity baseline of key sites and systems, striking the balance in managing situations autonomously but learning the appropriate and proportionate escalation point e.g. to Head of Security, Emergency Services.

  • Patrols: When required, conduct thorough internal and external patrols at various client locations, identifying and reporting any security vulnerabilities or suspicious activity. Ad-Hoc travel to London sites will be required from time to time.
  • Locks and Unlocks: Perform secure opening and closing procedures at client premises, ensuring all entry and exit points are properly secured and following the specific instructions for each site.
  • Shift Handover: Provide comprehensive, clear handovers at the end of every shift, documenting all significant events, incidents and observations in detail.
  • Additional duties: Undertake other reasonable security related operational and capability development tasks (often across sites) as required by the business, Team Leader and Head of Security, adapting to client needs and evolving security situations.
  • Learning and Development: Actively engage in learning from experienced security expert team members and share learning from your own experiences.
  • Shift coverage: Demonstrate a willingness to cover additional shifts when requested to help maintain consistent oversight.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
