About the job
Location: UK (with client travel)
Employment type: Permanent
Career level: Consultant
Salary: Competitive Salary & Package (dependent on experience)
A leading data engineering consultancy is looking for a Security Risk Consultant to advise on and mitigate risk across some of the UK's most complex programmes in health, public sector, defence and central government.
Due to client and UK Government security requirements, this role requires eligibility for BPSS and SC security clearance at the point of application. This typically requires UK citizenship (as specified by the end-client's security policy) and at least 5 years' continuous UK address history, usually without any single period of 30+ consecutive days spent outside the UK. Existing UK Government clearance (e.g. SC, DV) is highly desirable, but we will consider candidates who can obtain it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
