Job Title: Security Services Administrator - Personnel Security
Location: Farnborough, Hampshire
Role Type: Permanent – Full Time
Role ID: 20705
Role Purpose:
To provide support to Security Services delivering planned or requested activities within Personnel Security in order to contribute to reducing risk, improving service delivery in line with our Service Definitions, and contributing to maintaining our license to operate.
Key Accountabilities:
- Autonomy - To support the delivery of a high quality business service working with a moderate degree of supervision and guidance, and working within defined procedures.
- Resolution/Escalation of Queries - To resolve queries and articulate more complex issues to a more senior member of the team.
- Communication/ Collaboration - To understand the delivery of a high standard of customer service communicating with tact and diplomacy at all times, taking accurate messages and passing them on to the appropriate person in a timely manner, where appropriate.
- Continuous Improvement - To support the continuous improvement of business services by identifying and communicating improvement opportunities within their own role and assisting other team members with continuous improvement projects and activities.
- Resilience - To support resilience across Business Services and learn new skills as identified by the Team Leader.
- Professional Development - To develop professional/ technical competence through structured learning and/or through work assignments.
Key Capabilities/Knowledge:
- Ability to communicate confidently with a range of personnel across the business
- Ability to work within procedures and working instructions with limited supervision and guidance
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple work strands simultaneously
- Ability to make a decision based on own knowledge and experience, and identify when further support and guidance is required
- Working knowledge of applicable data protection legislation
Experience & Qualifications:
- To have attained A-Levels or College level qualification within a business administration (or similar field)
- Hold or obtain the DISA Vetting Administrator qualification (NVQ Level 2)
- To provide evidence of recent relevant experience in a similar role is desirable.
- Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT applications
- Demonstrate understanding of purpose and methodology of pre-employment screening and national security vetting

Security Services Administrator – Vetting:
- To ensure pre-employment screening is carried out for all employees, contractors and associates
- To administer all elements of the Security Vetting Lifecycle in accordance with HMG / Authority and business procedures
- To process and record all vetting applications / clearances for permanent employees, contracts and associates
- To monitor existing clearance expiries for all employees ensuring renewals are managed in a timely manner
- To provide support and guidance for all levels of pre-employment screening (BPSS) and national security vetting (SC, ESC, DV, EDV)
- To ensure compliance to data protection legislation, organisational policies, procedures and work instructions at all times
- To liaise with external partners (Giant and UKSV) to deliver pre-employment screening and national security vetting
- To support the review of current processes and work instructions, and identify opportunities for improvement to Team Lead
This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site.
