Permanent
Location: Edinburgh
Hours: Full time, 50 hours a week, 10 hours a day, 5 days a week - various shift times
Pay: £15.50 ph

Wilson James is recruiting a professional and customer-focused Security & Services Assistant to support a prestigious financial services client in the heart of Edinburgh.
This is a varied role that combines security, facilities management, front-of-house, administration, and customer service responsibilities. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a corporate environment, takes pride in delivering exceptional service, and is willing to support multiple areas of the operation as part of a collaborative team.
About The Role
- Provide a professional security presence and act as a key point of contact for employees, visitors, contractors, and clients.
- Conduct internal and external security patrols and monitor CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems.
- Manage visitor access, issue passes, and escort visitors and contractors when required.
- Deliver a high-quality front-of-house service, meeting and greeting guests and supporting meeting room management.
- Support facilities operations, including contractor management, mailroom activities, stationery orders, and office services.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, diaries, trackers, and shared mailboxes in support of the wider facilities function.
- Respond to incidents, health and safety concerns, fire alarms, and emergency situations while completing all relevant reporting.
- Act as a First Aider, Fire Marshal, and Keyholder, supporting the safe and efficient operation of the site.

What We Are Looking For
- Valid SIA Security Guarding (SG) or Door Supervisor (DS) Licence, or willingness to obtain one with company support.
- Previous experience in a security, facilities, customer service, or corporate support environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the confidence to engage professionally with senior stakeholders and visitors.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate reports and records.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive when dealing with incidents, emergencies, or challenging situations.
- Reliable, flexible, and adaptable, with a strong commitment to attendance, punctuality, and teamwork.
- Smart and professional presentation, with the confidence to work in both security and front-of-house environments.
Desirable
- Experience working within a corporate, banking, or financial services environment.
- Knowledge of access control and CCTV systems.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
