As a Solution Engineer Manager, you will lead a team of Security Solution Engineers who act as trusted advisors and subject matter experts. Your team will support customers in evaluating their applications and business requirements, recommending tailored solutions, and demonstrating cutting-edge technologies to win technical decisions.

Responsibilities
Sales Discipline Enablement
- Align with the Specialist Sales Manager on territory and account priorities across the Account Management Team and Customer Success Team, including opportunity management and forecasts.
- Ensure the Solution Engineers in the team drive progress through key customer engagement milestones.
- Represent the Solution Engineering team in collaboration with business stakeholders to remove blockers and secure Security wins.
- Coach and model best practices for the Solution Engineering Team to win customers through unified engagement strategies, skilling initiatives, and seamless transitions to the Customer Success Team and partners.
- Establish a consistent cadence with prioritized partners, emphasizing collaboration, go-to-market strategies, accountability, and achieving ambitious goals. Guide your team to maintain regular interactions and strengthen relationships with partners to accelerate.

Change Management
- Lead the Solution Engineers within the team-based model to ensure clarity on the new approach and coordination with other sales functions.
- Set team goals to win technical decisions to accelerate revenue and position Microsoft as the preferred platform.
- Coach the team to regularly update progress milestones to accelerate deal velocity.
- Develop technical depth to support coaching and modeling of advanced solution capabilities.
- Build team expertise to Level 300/ 400 in Security solution knowledge.
Technical Sales Expertise Coaching
- Ensure the Technical Sales Team leverages all available resources at Microsoft to advance customer engagement milestones.
- Mentor the team on technical whiteboarding and mapping business processes with customers.
- Collaborate with Global Black Belt Managers to escalate technical blockers to engineering teams for timely resolution.
- Build and maintain executive stakeholder support to remove internal and external barriers.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Proven technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
- Experience of Microsoft Security Platform and solutions; Presentations, Story Telling, Technical Conversations, Proof of Concepts. OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND few years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on, technical pre-sales experience across the Microsoft Security portfolio or related competitive products with depth (Level 300/400) in at least three of the following pillars.
Threat protection / XDR — Microsoft Defender XDR (Endpoint, Office 365, Identity, Cloud Apps); vs. CrowdStrike Falcon, SentinelOne, Palo Alto Cortex XDR, Trend Micro
Cloud-native security (CNAPP) — Microsoft Defender for Cloud (CSPM + workload protection); vs. Wiz, Palo Alto Prisma Cloud,

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, or developing technical professionals in a pre-sales, solution engineering, consulting, or cybersecurity environment. While prior people management experience is not required, candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong ability to inspire teams, drive performance, develop talent, and create an inclusive, high-performing culture aligned to Microsoft's Model, Coach, Care leadership framework.
Solution Engineering M5
The typical base pay range for this role across United Kingdom is £ 79,700.00 - £ 133,900.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
