Security Solutions Engineer | 6–9 Month Contract

Frimley | Hybrid – currently 1–2 weeks on site per month
Contract | £650/day including fees
UK SC Clearance | International Travel

I’m currently working on a new contract opportunity within the Defence sector for an experienced Security Solutions Engineer.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with strong security and infrastructure engineering experience who enjoys working across both cloud and on-prem environments and is comfortable working directly with clients.

What’s on offer:

  • 6–9 month contract
  • 40 hours per week
  • Frimley + UK client sites
  • Currently around 1–2 weeks on site per month
  • International travel required
  • Opportunity to work within a Defence environment across varied security technologies
  • Exposure to both cloud and on-prem infrastructure
  • A hands-on technical role with strong client interaction

The role:

You’ll support the design, deployment, configuration and improvement of a range of security solutions and infrastructure.

You’ll work across areas including:

  • Cloud, on-prem and virtualised infrastructure
  • Containers and containerised platforms
  • Network security, routers, switches and VLANs
  • DNS and identity management
  • Security tooling deployment and integration
  • Linux administration, package management and scripting
  • Infrastructure sizing and technical requirements
  • Testing solutions against functional and non-functional requirements

We’re looking for someone who can operate as a technical SME but also communicate confidently with clients and stakeholders.

You’ll ideally have experience with:

  • Network design and configuration
  • Cloud and on-prem infrastructure
  • VM and container deployments
  • Linux administration and scripting
  • TCP/IP and network traffic analysis
  • Security tooling and infrastructure
  • Client-facing technical consulting

You’ll need to be adaptable, comfortable picking up new technologies and confident working in environments where no two projects are necessarily the same.
