We're Hiring: Security Supervisor

📍 Location: Winchester, SO21 2JN
đź’° Salary: ÂŁ38,500 per year
đź•’ Hours: 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm

Working at a large and prestigious technology and innovation campus in a rural location, the Security Officer will play a key role in protecting employees, visitors, contractors, and critical business operations. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for access control, patrols, incident response, customer service, and maintaining a safe and secure environment across a busy multi-building estate within a modern office environment. This Security Officer position offers the opportunity to work within a professional corporate setting, supporting a globally recognised technology organisation while delivering exceptional security and customer service standards. The site benefits from on-site parking and a subsidised canteen, providing excellent facilities for employees.

Job Description

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

  • Welcome and assist staff, visitors, and contractors while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Lead and support the on-site security team during your shift.
  • Conduct regular patrols to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Manage access control, CCTV, alarm systems, and incident response.
  • Ensure all officers are compliant with site procedures and company standards.
  • Support emergency procedures, including evacuations and searches.
  • Monitor performance, provide coaching, and support team development.
  • Maintain accurate records, site documentation, incidents, and handovers.
  • Remain vigilant at all times, reporting incidents and preventing disruption.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • A valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence
  • Previous control room experience and the ability to lead and motivate a team
  • A proactive approach, strong customer focus, and excellent team-building skills
  • A valid CCTV Licence and full UK driving licence
  • British nationality and UK residency for the past 5 years (due to site requirements)
  • The right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable employment history
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken English
  • Flexibility to support operational requirements when needed
