Job objectives and responsibilities
The Security and Systems Account Managers are the strategic conduit and driving force behind all security service lines delivered under the contract. Acting as the single point of contact for the client, this role ensures the seamless integration, governance, and delivery of services across static guarding, key holding, fire and security systems, the wider property strategy and project portfolio and supporting business continuity.
The postholder will drive transformation, standardisation, and continuous improvement across all security functions, ensuring contract compliance, operational excellence, a proactive security culture and drive measurable outcomes, exceeding the client's expectations.
Strong technical capability—particularly in security systems, data analytics, programming, and security transformation—is essential.
The Security and Systems Account Managers must ensure a collaborative approach is taken across all service lines to ensure that a ‘One Mitie' approach is delivered. They will need to be detail orientated with a strict organisation and time keeping ability to ensure all teams are aligned on roles and responsibilities to meet the contractual delivery for the Client. This role will be working alongside the Client Account Management Team, directly managing the onsite Mitie embedded team, the Mitie regional management team as well as The Key Holding Company (Software Platform Partner)
Main duties
Contract Leadership & Oversight
- Act as the primary interface between the client and all internal service lines across a number of workstreams to deliver a holistic security solution.
- Provide strategic leadership ensuring fully compliant, high performing security services across guarding, software platform partner, fire & security systems, and property related security projects.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring cohesive service delivery and alignment with contractual deliverables, KPIs, SLAs, and client expectations.
- Manage a budget and resources ensuring efficient allocation and utilisation of resources, as well as ensuring the account billing process is followed.
Security Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Lead a multi-year security transformation roadmap encompassing people, technology, systems, processes, and data.
- Identify and implement improvements across physical security, resilience, and risk frameworks, ensuring modernised, efficient service delivery.
- Support integration and optimisation of fire and security systems, ensuring interoperability, automation, and data‑led insights.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain trusted, senior‑level relationships with the client's security, property, risk, and operational stakeholders.
- Provide regular reporting, insights, and strategic recommendations to enhance the client's security posture and resilience.
- Act as escalation point for all contractual, operational, or security‑related matters.
Operational Security Oversight
- Holds accountability for the delivery of static guarding operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements through close management and oversight of the Account Team across all regions.
- Responsible for implementing, driving and adhering to a calendar of physical security risk assessments, vulnerability reviews and site visits across all Client regional offices, ensuring the Client is well informed of visit dates, findings and emerging risks/vulnerabilities, with a comprehensive report delivered to detail findings, actions and outcomes.
- Responsible for regular physical penetration tests and live scenario training, develop a testing and exercising regime.
- Ensure the workstreams are embedded into the client with strict contract governance controls and supporting KPIs.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement (Plan – Check – Act) and technology adoption, particularly Microsoft Copilot and AI, by regularly reviewing and updating security based on the threat, lessons learned, and emerging industry trends and considering Operational Resilience and Security and Resilience.
- Support the developing of ideas to monitor building resilience live by harnessing data from across Security and FM.

Property Strategy & Security Projects
- Work collaboratively with property and FM stakeholders to assess building risks, develop mitigation strategies, and deliver end‑to‑end security projects.
- Drive security system upgrades, access control improvements, resilience enhancements, and other capital or improvement initiatives by leveraging relationships with the Account and Mitie to ensure success.
- Ensure all projects align with the overarching security strategy, industry best practice, and lifecycle planning.
Security Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Support the evolvement of Business Continuity programme led by the Business Continuity Manager, embedding this in across all work streams to ensure it integrates across the client's Resilience function.
- Maintain oversight of security and resilience risk registers, audits, and assurance activity.
- Ensure the Account maintains compliant with relevant standards and legislation including (but not limited to) SIA regulations, fire safety regulations, ISO‑aligned security and resilience frameworks, and client internal standards.
- Accountable for ensuring all Account locations develop and maintain policies, procedures, SOPs, and transformation documentation by working closely with the Account Team and Client.
Data, Technology & Programming
- Utilise strong programming and analytics skills (e.g., Python, SQL, BI platforms) to drive innovation such as: Building interactive dashboards, KPI suites, data-driven insights and SteerCo project plans and trackers.
- Automate processes and create AI‑enabled workflows where appropriate.
- Enhance visibility, forecasting, and predictive risk modelling.
- Drive innovation across security technology, including modern systems integration and automation opportunities.
Incident Management & Resilience
- Provide strategic oversight of incident reporting, trends analysis, and lessons-learned implementation.
- Support or lead the response to significant security incidents, ensuring effective communication and recovery.
- Collaborate with resilience stakeholders to strengthen property-related security resilience.
Person Specification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree Security or Resilience or a related field. Professional membership and certification.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Service leavers with similar qualifications and experience are encouraged to apply detailing their ambition, commitment L&D.
- Project & Process Management experience ideally with certification in Agile, Prince2, APM.
- Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), or similar are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5-years' experience in security and project management with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity or as a senior consultant.
- Proven track record in developing and deploying security frameworks within complex organisational environments.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with risk assessment methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- The ability to develop, write and maintain policy and plans is essential.
- Microsoft 365 and Copilot courses are available but I high degree of competency will be highly beneficial.
- Audit qualifications and experience would be highly desirable.
- Experience with security, BCM, Operational Resilience or Critical Event Management (CEM) tools.
- Experience working in property, FM and landlords\managing agents.
